31 Nights Of Halloween: Top Five Scariest Movies (Some Nightmare Fuel)

Here we have it, my horror lovers. The final post in my mini series from my 31 nights of Halloween in October. I wanted to save the best for last. These are the top five movies that I think were the scariest. Some of these may have wound up on my top ten movies but I did not want any overlap. The top movies on this list will be the ones that actually kept me awake at night or straight up gave me nightmares. There’s only two that made it hard for me to sleep, but I have some honorable mentions that I think were also pretty high on the spook meter. I’ll give a little reasoning into why they scared me the most, because we may disagree. The two scariest to me were some of my roommate’s favorite! Beware that there may be some minor spoilers ahead. I try to be vague when I can.

31 Days Of Halloween: Top Ten Movies

Hello, my little horror lovers.

My last post discussed my foray into watching 31 horror movies the month of October to celebrate Halloween. I ranked all of the movies on a five star scale. Most movies ranked at least as 3 stars from me, with only one falling to 2 stars. Some movies that I very much enjoyed might not end up on this list, because it’ll show up on my next post (scariest movies!) This post I’m going to breakdown by top ten movies for the month, a very brief synopsis, and why it has ranked in my top ten favorites. Beware of potential spoilers.

31 Nights of Halloween: All The Scary Movies

This October, my roommate (Trixie) and I decided that we were going to watch a scary movie for each night of the month. There were a few days in there that we had work obligations but we doubled up during the weekends sometimes and ultimately we watched thirty one movies total. I’ve always enjoyed reading the stories and plots of scary movies, but I didn’t start watching them until recently. I was a sensitive child with some deep fears. I watched A Nightmare on Elm Street and Child’s Play when I was too young. I was always terrified of Freddy and Chucky. I saw Evil Dead in 2013 when the reboot released and I had nightmares. Let’s just say I was excited and wary going into this month.

Geekish Glitter Lacquer Launch!

For quite some time, in the background, I’ve been working on getting an indie nail polish brand going. I’ve been working on mixing and testing and everything and finally it’s all about to come to fruition. This Friday, October 13th, 2017, my brand, Geekish Glitter Lacquer, is launching! I’m going to share some bottle shots of the polishes here. I don’t have much else but if you go and follow Geekish Glitter Lacquer on Instagram, you’ll see all of the swatches that were done by some great swatchers.

July Wake The Dead Monthly Box

So let’s talk about the fact that I go months in between posts. Good thing I’m not trying to be a professional blogger, right? Because I would fail. I’ve been busy. I’m starting a new indie nail polish brand (stay tuned for that), I moved in July, and I’ve been working graveyard shifts. So life has been busy. Since I was moving when I got this box, the lighting of my photos is a bit… off. But I wanted to take pics and post them before it was another six months.

Into The Darkness Box

Have you ever noticed that I make posts about things that have been released and long gone for so long that it isn’t even funny? I’m not a reviewer or a swatcher. I’m an amateur blogger that does this at my own convenience. That would be exactly why I’m posting about this box that was released in October of 2016 and I just never was able to find the time to post about it. I’ve had these pictures for like six months at this point. Enjoy?

Super Extremely Late Christmas Haul Post!

I’m slow. I know I’m so very slow and late to post lately. There’s about a thousand excuses I could give. It’s March 23rd as I type this (who knows when the post will actually go up), and it’s about three months since Christmas. But I also really wanted to share the stuff I got for Christmas. However, between losing family members, work, personal time, and dealing with some extreme chronic depression, it kind of fell by the wayside. So with those excuses, check out some cool stuff about three months late.

January 2017 Ipsy Bag

Alright, let’s start this off a little different. This is my last Ipsy that I will be receiving. There will be no more resubscribing. I’ve decided to cut ties with this subscription bag. For starters, they would not stop sending stuff from The Balm. I was tired of it. I never used it and almost always tried to destash it. Aside from that, I don’t like the way they provided customer service to my BFFF. She received a tracking notification early in the month (I believe around the 6th). From then, it never updated. She contacted Ipsy not long after that. They assured her that it was on the way (not sure how they could tell when the tracking was not updating at all). Finally after over 20 days, she asked them for a refund. They told her that they do not issue refunds but they would send her another bag, that they would send another tracking code, and it would leave their warehouse in 5-7 days. Wait, what? Stop the truck. 5-7 days to send the replacement bag from their warehouse? So she would get her bag in February, and not be able to review the products to be able to get a better curated February bag. She cancelled, and I have cancelled in solidarity. I think that is a bit ridiculous and it should not have taken so long to resend a new bag when clearly the tracking was not updating on DHL and the tracking number was no good for USPS.

Aside from that, my bag this month was alright. I’ll use the products. I just have such a sour taste in my mouth that I’ll go with a different subscription service instead, like Boxycharm possibly. Either way, I’m done with Ipsy. Check out my bag below though.

December Ipsy Bag: One Month Late

So this is a month late, but I think we can all understand that December gets a little bit crazy sometimes with the holidays so it wasn’t at the top of my priority list around that time. I got the December Ipsy bag and was mostly satisfied with the things that I received. The bag is horrid and fuzzy and bright pink, but it’s a makeup bag so I’ll take it. I can’t say it won’t just sit there though. Overall, not a bad bag. Check it out below the cut.

Favorite Polishes of 2016

2016 has been over for a couple of weeks (thank goodness!) but I still wanted to touch on my favorite polishes of the year that I used. I went through my Instagram and found a few that stood out to me as my favorite polishes. You might notice a theme (I wear a lot of green) and also a few stand out brands (two in particular). So head on under the cut to see which polishes I considered my favorite last year!
